Pay back time......

I strongly feel the people who are the potential for this blog (and any other blogs) are a fortunate lot. Fortunate to recieve the right education. However out there there are many who not that fortunate.

Those of you from the city of Mumbai and traveling by trains will remember the sight of bubbly kids on the platform who run after you requesting to polish your shoes for a mere three rupees. If you observe them closely you would find a mysterious spark in their eyes. A few interaction with them ( and i never miss such occasions) you realise that they are exteremely smart kids. I always feel that if they were educated in good schools they would do extremely well. With proper guidance and by channelising their energies in the right direction they would do as good as any of us.

However they lack a medium

And this is where fortunate souls like us come into the picture. Yes we were fortunate enough to be given the right directions early in our lives, by being imparted the right education and right environment. And now it is our responsibility to repay for this wonderful gesture that our parents and God have made, that allowed us to be what we are today.

( i shall use the word 'fortunate' repeatedly to make us realise that we should not take for granted one of the most precious gift we have, our education)

It is upto us my fortunate friends that in our lifetime we make atleast some concious efforts to channelise our energies (at least partially) to provide direction to these kids, who simply because of circumstances have missed the benefits of education

We need to start being accountable.

Yes most of us would say we are too busy, wanting to teach kids but dont have the time and such other excuses. But dear friends, ask youself frankly (be true to yourself), whether you really don't have the time. Can't we spare 2 hours in a week comprising of 168 hours for educating our future generations who are not that fortunate enough?

I'm sure we can. It's all in the mindset

And believe me the 2 hours of efforts invested will deliver us satisfaction of infinite proportions. And its not just you who would be happy and satsified but those children who would always remember you for all that you have done for them. And even if they don't, please remember,

for all the sins which you would commit in your lifetime and however dreadful they may be.... i'm sure god will always have a smile when he would recall of these 2 hours/week you had invested in educating and thus improving lives of his most favoured possesions...his childrens

God has empowered us and we should not let him down

We need to act. Now
