The joy of experiencing pain....
It's only human to want more
....well almost everything except probably pain.
Do you recall the innumerable times we pray to god that he may not bring us pain? I always wonder about that. Look at it this way, we always do pray for happiness 'pls god give me happiness in my life". So, if we ask for happiness then why do we detest pain so much. Why is pain so despised?
We all know that pain is a inevitable. The question then is why do we go in this sudden depression when pain finally embraces us. Why do we panic as if its the end of the world? Why do we then end up doing things which we never should have?
I guess its probably all in the mindset.
Its because we are never prepared for it, we ignore it, we run away from it, we assume its not for me, only for sinful souls
However pain is not all that bad as it is made out to be.it is required to be understood at a much depeer level - a deeper connect and once that realisation comes you will realise pain is probably one of the most necessary and beautiful aspects of one's life; something worth embracing.
For this however we need to change our perscpective. We need to look at pain a little differently and more importantly with an open mind.
I strongly feel that to realise one's true self it's extremely essential to experience pain and when i say experience i mean complete immersion in the feeling that is pain. You experience the pain in your body, mind and soul. You need to accept it let it penetarte you deeply and then once you have experienced pain in the true sense a completely new perspective would emrge which you would never have imagined
So if this were true, what is stooping us?
We unfortunately happen to live in a very surreal world. If we are to analyse ourselves we would realise that we are governed by certain patterns in our lives and have become accustomed to those for long. So much so that its become a routine now, we never really think about it, just keep moving without ever thinking . Worrying only about the micro aspects of our life, failing to ever realise the big picture.
We've been so accustomed to this routine way of living that we dislike any abberation from these patterns, we prefer it the way its moving (i would call it the safe & sound route'), despite knowing fully well that there possibly exists an alternative path much more beautiful and fruitful that is waiting to be treaded on.
That is until something drastically shakes us.
Breaks our monotonus patterns, forces us to pause our lives and to start thinking. Thinking at a much deeper level and connect with our soul and in the process realise our true self.
And thats something is pain.
Pain is the much desired discontinuity in our lives. Sure its the most terrible period to go through, but the whole point is, one should realise that if we can withstand this period of pain without doing anything negative to ourself we would slowly realise our true self. One tends to realise their priorities and there is much more clarity in life.
And experiencing pain may lead to change our path; Not completely perhaps but atleast partially; the degree depend upon our experience of pain; somebody who tries running away from pain and may never change would simply miss a great opportunity to improve his life.
But the point is one should not run away from pain. True nobody wants pain, but when it does arrive, embrace it as an essential part of our life. The belief should be that pain has arrived to make me a better human being. This pain shall last for some period of time but when it does pass by after you having completely experienced it, you will be a rejuvenated person; having answers to many questions which you never thought of and will have questions the answers for which you will now begin to seek.
Pain therfore my dear friends is inevitable but certainly not bad. In the long term its one of the most beautiful part of our lives which arrives to transform us in the true sense however what is required is to be aware about it accept it and experience it fully. And treat it as an much needed therapy such that when it comes and passes by, a much more stronger, deeper and wiser human evolves. And hence we should not avoid pain from our life but rather pray that he may give us courage to withstand the pain so that a stronger individual emerges from all this.
It's all in how you carry it. That's what matters

My favourite line would have to be
"having answers to many questions which you never thought of and will have questions the answers for which you will now begin to seek"
--- beautifully thought provoking article , the charm of which lies in its simple style, which belies the depth of its content. It jolts you out of the reverie with which one sails through life, and forces you to explore a "deeper you"
